Everyone deserves the opportunity to experience the magic of live theatre.
PTK’s Sensory-Friendly Performances are designed to create a welcoming, supportive, and inclusive theatre experience for individuals with autism, sensory sensitivities, disabilities, or anyone who may benefit from a more relaxed performance environment.
During this performance, adjustments may be made to lighting and sound levels, and audience members are welcome to move, make sounds, or step out of the theatre as needed. A quiet space will be available for anyone who needs a break, and our staff and volunteers understand that everyone experiences theatre differently. Families and caregivers can relax and enjoy the performance without worrying about traditional theatre etiquette.
At the Public Theatre of Kentucky, we believe theatre should never be elitist or exclusive. Our little “jewel box” theatre belongs to everyone, and we want every person who enters our doors to know:
You belong here.
